Municipal Projects

Buchanan Road Improvements (Pittsburg): This $900,000 rehabilitation and widening project covered over 2 miles of a major arterial roadway in the City of Pittsburg. The purpose of the project was to rehabilitate the existing pavement and widen to accommodate bicycle lanes along the entire route. Project involved deflection testing and reconfiguration of pavement striping to accommodate bike lanes and maintain existing on street parking. Project funding was administered through Caltrans Local Programs.

 

 

Cosmo/Monterey Road Sanitary Sewer Relocation (Morgan Hill):  This $700,000 sanitary sewer relocation project, involved reversal in the direction of flow in several residential streets to allow the abandonment of the main along Llagas Creek for a future flood control project. The project involved over 35 service lateral connections, traffic handling plans, utility coordination and construction of mains from 6 inch to 15 inch diameter.

 

Moretti Drive Drainage Improvements (Concord): This project corrected a localized flooding problem, which caused storm water from the Concord Naval Weapons Station to enter private property and flood several residences. The report for the project involved a hydrology study of the upstream area, detention basin routing, hydraulic grade line calculations, and recommendations to the City for improvements. The design involved construction of a masonry flood wall, supplemental culverts, new drainage inlets and modification to existing inlets.

Empire Avenue (Oakley): This project involved design of frontage improvements for a missing segment of Empire Avenue in the City of Oakley.  Project involved design of curb and gutter, sidewalk and widening to accommodate an additional lane of traffic.

 

L Street Pedestrian Improvements Under State Route 4 (Antioch): This project involved the design of a concrete retaining wall, sidewalk, curb and gutter under the existing SR4 bridges to replace the existing non-ADA compliant sidewalk. Project involved environmental documents, encroachment permits and geotechnical investigation. Staging plans were required to allow pedestrian access at all times. Utility coordination was required to pothole at potential conflict locations and make necessary adjustments. Project funding was administered through Caltrans Local Programs.

Pittsburg-Antioch Highway (Pittsburg): This Local Assistance funded project consisted of widening and overlay of an existing two-lane roadway to an AASHTO minimum 40 feet wide section for safety and operational improvements. The project included a longitudinal floodplain encroachment, which required a Location Hydraulic Study in compliance with the LAPM. A portion of the roadway will be reconstructed with a significant adjustment to the vertical profile to prevent future flooding and closure of the roadway. Work included traffic detour and staging plans.

Main Street-Downtown Revitalization Project (Oakley): This project involved the development of plan-line drawings and detailed cost estimates to aid the City in it's redevelopment plan strategy for the downtown area. The work also involved determining required right of way for the project.

East 18th Street (Antioch): This project involved the widening of East 18th Street between Cavallo and Hargrove, which is in a business district of the City of Antioch. The work involved design of a tie-back retaining wall to minimize impacts to adjacent buildings. The project involved the design of storm drainage and water supply lines. Staging plans and driveway conforms were required to allow business access at all times. Utility coordination was required to pothole at potential conflict locations and make necessary adjustments.

Mather Field West Roadway Improvement (Rancho Cordova): This project involved reconstruction, widening and realignment of 4400 LF of roadway and infrastructure improvement on the former Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento County. Project included storm drain improvements, utility coordination and relocation, water transmission main, construction of at-grade railroad crossing and obtaining permits from Department of Fish and Game, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, State Regional Water Quality Control Board and the Public Utilities Commission. This project was funded by an EDA grant, which had specific requirements, such as, ADA compliance.

Valhalla Soundwall Project (West Sacramento): This project involved the design of sound walls and safety barrier along Interstate 80 near Enterprise Boulevard in West Sacramento. Project included public meetings with adjacent mobile home park residents, drainage improvements, and utility coordination. Plans were prepared to City standard format.

Wachtel Way (Citrus Heights): Widening and rehabilitation of 1 mile of county road in Citrus Heights, Sacramento County. Work also included reconstruction of non-standard horizontal and vertical curves, roadway drainage upgrades, and driveway conforms.

Enterprise Boulevard Water Main (West Sacramento): This project involved the design of 16” (1004 LF) water main across Interstate 80 on Enterprise Boulevard in West Sacramento. Project included utility coordination and pavement restoration. Plans were prepared to City standard format.

Grant Avenue Rehabilitation (Winters): This project involved the design of roadway rehabilitation and drainage improvements to Grant Avenue in downtown Winters, including reconstruction of existing roadway cross slope and longitudinal grades to provide positive drainage, construction of wheelchair ramps to current standards, adjustment and relocation of existing utilities, reconstruction of waterlines.
